Core in Construction and Building Services Engineering
As part of the Level 3 apprenticeship in Site Carpentry, you will need to complete the Level 2 Core in Construction and Building Services Engineering qualification unless you have a recognised equivalent qualification.
The Level 2 Core in Construction and Building Services Engineering provides a thorough introduction to construction. It is for people who work in, or plan to work in these sectors.
The core unit of this qualification cover six mandatory subjects including career and employability skills, health and safety and an introduction to the construction and built environment sectors and trades.
We will tailor your learning programme to suit your needs, so that everyone's experience is unique. While needs differ, the recommended time to complete this programme is 15 months.
Upon completion of the Core qualification, you will be able to go on to study for your Level 3 qualification in Site Carpentry as part of your apprenticeship.
Level 3 Site Carpentry Apprenticeship
This apprenticeship is made to give you the knowledge and practical skills necessary to do the tasks for site carpentry work in commercial, industrial and residential buildings.
The units range from setting up and using portable cutting and shaping machines in the workplace to installing bespoke first fixing and second fixing components in the workplace and much more.
In addition to the mandatory units, your training advisor will work with you and your employer to select optional units relevant to your role.
The Level 3 Apprenticeship should take you around 4 years to complete, including time spent on achieving the Level 2 Core qualification.
After successfully completing this site carpentry apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for a CSCS craft card, advance to an appropriate Higher - Level Apprenticeship or progress in your career by receiving additional training for positions like site manager or workshop supervisor.
Support with reading, writing and maths is also available
